Rugged Telemetry has created the first STEM IoT program enabling college and high school students to get hands-on experience with advanced hardware and software systems that will inspire and teach the ecosystem of IoT.
The STEM program is based on real world applications. We follow the same steps when creating an IoT solution for any of our customers.
This starts with data collection and understanding the data you need to collect. For example, if we are monitoring a lake with algae issues, I may use a different set of sensors than I would a river where we are concerned about sewage contamination. Once the sensors needed have been identified, we turn to the technological side of STEM and install and configure our sensors for data collection. After we have completed the installation of the equipment, we can look at that data in our STEM platform, analyse and share the data, and make decisions based on that data.
RT STEM focuses on developing knowledge of sensors and how they work. The program includes information on remote communications over cellular and satellite networks, and cloud based systems for retrieving and analyzing data.
